The Magical Benefits Of Rosemary

Rosemary is one of my absolute favorite herbs to use as an oil or a tea. There was a time where I would do up to 8 or even 10 tarot readings in a day and the only thing giving me the mental clarity to go on, was rubbing rosemary on my temples and wrists. It is such a clarifying and rejuvenating herb, it can relieve stress, nervous exhaustion and fatigue, while clearing, energizing and uplifting the spirit too.

Brain Health

Rosemary tea contains antioxidants that prevent the breakdown of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter that preserves brain issue. In this way it is used to improve mental functions, memory, concentration and prevent against Alzheimer’s disease. It is excellent for circulation and helps to relieve migraines and headaches.

Rosemary oil is a nerve and brain tonic. It boosts mental activity and concentration and helps to remedy mental fatigue, nervous exhaustion, depression and forgetfulness. It also helps to relieve migraines and headaches.

Skin and Hair

Rosemary oil stimulates the hair follicles and increases blood flow to the scalp which encourages hair health and hair growth. It’s also known to kill lice and treat a dry flaky scalp.

Rosemary oil is high in antioxidants and vitamin E and is known to prevent against the aging of the skin. It is an anti inflammatory, anti-fungal and antiseptic which makes it helpful for treating acne and skin irritations in general. It is also known to strengthen the capillaries and increase circulation to the skin.

Pain Relief

Rosemary oil is excellent for relieving pain associated to menstrual cramps, muscle aches and tiredness as well as rheumatism and arthritis.

Antioxidant, Anti Aging and Anti Cancer

Rosemary tea is full of antioxidants that help to protect the body from free radicals and toxins including monoterpenes, phenolic diterpenes and flavonoids and Vitamin E. These slow down the production of free radicals which protects your body against aging and illness.

The two ingredients that give Rosemary it’s importance are caffeic acid and rosemarinic acid. These are powerful antioxidants and anti inflammatory agents. These are very effective at treating the inflammation associated to asthma, liver disease and heart disease.

Rosemary tea is also used to block excessive estrogen, protecting against breast cancer, when used everyday for a few weeks. This is due to it’s ability to stimulate liver enzymes.

Liver and Kidney Health

Rosemary tea has been shown to deactivate and flush toxins from the liver, before they can cause damage.

It stimulates your liver to work at it’s optimum levels which helps to breakdown fat, improve digestion, relieve bloating and give you more energy.

It is also used to relieve water retention without draining the kidneys of essential minerals.

Using Rosemary

So Rosemary improves the overall health of your body, while relieving depression, fatigue and nervous exhaustion, energizing you, clarifying you and centering you!

Tea
Place a teaspoon of dried rosemary herbs in a cup of boiled water. Steep for 5 to 10 minutes, then drink. Drink 1 to 3 cups a day.

Oil
Place 6 drops of rosemary oil in a tablespoon of grapeseed or olive oil. Blend and apply.

WARNINGS
Don’t use rosemary if you’re pregnant. Check with your doctor, before using rosemary tea, if you suffer from any serious conditions
Never drink rosemary oil.
